Carson Toyota Confirms, Toyota Honored By 2011 Resale Value Award For Toyota Models
December 20, 2010 – Carson, Calif. – Carson Toyota confirms, Toyota’s FJ Cruiser and Tacoma have both received Kelley Blue Book’s “2011 Best Resale Value Award”.
Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards are based on projections from the Kelley Blue Book® Official Residual Value Guide, determined by an expert staff of automotive analysts. These prestigious awards honor vehicles expected to maintain the greatest proportion of their original list price after five years of ownership.
“We’re extremely pleased that two of Toyota’s models have been recognized by Kelley Blue Book,” said Carson Toyota’s General Sales Manager, Marty Brylski. “It’s a great acknowledgment for Toyota and correlates to our goals as a quality brand.”
Depreciation often is the greatest expense incurred by drivers during the first five years of vehicle ownership. An average vehicle will only retain about 34 percent of its original value after a five-year ownership period, meaning that a $50,000 new car today will only be worth somewhere close to $17,000 after five years.
According to Kelley Blue Book, certain vehicles are projected to hold their value better than others, hence their decision for the top “2011 Best Resale Value Award” winners, which include the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota FJ Cruiser.
